The Missouri Equine Council works hard for the equine industry and one
of our proudest accomplishments was the enactment of the Equine Limited
Liability Law (SB457) that was signed into law in 1994. The purpose of the
law is to provide protection from liability for equine professionals under
specific circumstances. One aspect of the law is the requirement
to post a specific warning sign(s) to put persons who rent, board, trail
ride or engage in any equine activity on notice that they are responsible
for their own safety when engaging in equine activities
The law is very particular about size of lettering on the signs and
