Missouri is a big state for horses. There is a lot going on. Much time,
planning, and travel go into representing the equine industry at events across
the state. Here are just a few of the functions MEC has participated in
recently. | |
|
2005
October: MEC will represent equestrian trail users and help sponsor the
Second Annual Missouri Trail Summit. MEC has representation at the planning
meetings throughout the year.
April: MEC board members dispensed educational material at the Ray County
4-H Equine Education Day in Richmond.
March: MEC represented the equine industry at the Missouri Department of
Agriculture Shamrock Shindig in Jefferson City. Several MEC board members and
staff participated by serving ‘Missouri Mint Juleps’ at this annual event.
March: MEC contracted with the Missouri Department of Agriculture to host
an equine portion to the annual MDA Livestock Judging & Grading Contest. This
was the first year to offer an equine component to the event. More than 200
students registered for the equine workshop and contest, which was held at
Midway Exhibition Center in Columbia.
February: MEC held its 15th annual event Equine Education Days, at the
Boone County Fairgrounds in Columbia. Trainer Clint Depew offered horsemanship
clinics for riders. AQHA judge Jim Dudley gave a presentation from the judge’s
